E3 Working with the Brain (7 CEs)
In this one-day course, we study essential brain anatomy and explore ways in which we can palliate and relieve stress patterns to optimize Central Nervous System Functionality. Students will leave the class with definitive, rudimentary, technical skill in assessing and treating the brain.

“You’d think that biologists, of all people, would have words for life. But in scientific language our terminology is used to define the boundaries of our knowing. What lies beyond our grasp remains unnamed.”
THE BRAIN IS THE LIFE!
Much of what we offer in craniosacral sessions has immediate implications for the brain, though this organ is seldom studied in much depth, even in my own core classes. This one-day offering seeks to bolster our understanding of this most vital component of our bodies, enabling a careful practitioner to look more deeply, act with more depth and focus, and achieve greater results.
In this one day (7 Hour) course, we will turn our attention to the anatomy of the brain, its tissues, its electrical activities, the functions and responsibilities of the several lobes, the implications of damage (and health) therein, the role of the endocrine system in the body, and of course, hands on skills with which to address all of these.
This course will, by virtue of its subject matter, require a rather deep dive into anatomical language and material. Homework will therefore be assigned prior to attendance, for all students who register for the course. Though we will unpack much of this material in class—via slideshow, demonstration, and such—hands-on work will be the primary engine for the teaching of this course. Doing homework ahead of time will enable us to cut down on exposition and save valuable class time for doing table work—exploring as many brains and their cranial homes as possible!
Prerequisite: some hands-on work, either from massage school/practice, yoga, dance, pyschology or somatic experiencing, as well as a vivid imagination! Cost: $200
